Our client is the market leader and manufacturer in the Building Products industry.
About the role:
The Human Resources Manager partners with the HR Director to lead day-to-day HR operations including recruiting and onboarding, employee relations, benefits and compensation administration, HR compliance, and support to plant leadership across all shifts. This role supervises HR Generalist(s)/Coordinator(s) and serves as a key point of contact for employees and supervisors on the production floor, helping build out HR infrastructure as the department continues to grow.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee full-cycle recruiting and onboarding for hourly and salaried positions, including job postings, screening, interviewing, offers, and new hire orientation.
Manage employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, and coaching supervisors on performance and conduct issues.
Administer employee benefits programs (medical, dental, vision, 401(k), safety eyewear, and other Company benefits) and serve as a primary point of contact for the ProLiant HRIS.
Ensure compliance with applicable federal, Louisiana, and local employment law, including FLSA, FMLA, ADA, Title VII, and OSHA recordkeeping requirements.
Partner with plant leadership on workforce planning, headcount reporting, and manning/staffing tracking across departments and shifts.
Support performance management processes, including annual reviews, disciplinary actions, and administration of the attendance occurrence system.
Coordinate training and development programs, including New Employee Orientation, supervisor training, and safety-related training in partnership with the Safety department.
Administer compensation programs, including pay increase requests, pay scale/grade structure maintenance, and market pay analysis.
Supervise, coach, and develop HR Generalist(s) and HR support staff.
Maintain and update HR policies, procedures, forms, and the Employee Handbook; ensure consistent application across departments and shifts.
Support a positive employee relations environment through regular presence on the production floor and responsiveness to employee concerns.
Perform other HR duties as assigned by the HR Director.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required; equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive Human Resources experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial HR role.
Manufacturing, industrial, or forest products/sawmill experience strongly preferred.
SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP or PHR/SPHR certification preferred.
