CNC Set up Machinist

4th Axis Machine & Design, Inc. provides contract manufacturing of high-quality components and sub-assemblies using cutting-edge technology for aerospace, defense, recreation and performance automotive, powersports, and medical.

The CNC Machinist operates CNC machines to support the manufacture of components and devices in multiple industries.

Shifts Available: Day Monday - Friday

CNC Machinist Duties and Responsibilities:

Operate CNC Lathe, Mill and wire EDM

Perform quality inspection on completed parts

Perform preventative maintenance on CNC machines to ensure consistent machine performance

Set-up work holding and cutting tools

CNC Machinist Position Requirements:

Operator experience with CNC Lathe, Mill (horizontal and vertical) and wire EDM

Experience with work holding and cutting tool set-up on CNC Lathe, Mill (horizontal and vertical)

Strong math background, preferable in machine math/shop math

Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

Ability to read and interpret blueprints

Experience with both Haas and Fanuc machine controls

Ability to read measurement equipment such as micrometer, caliper, pressure micrometer

CNC Machinist Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Machining experience with Aerospace components, devices, or instruments

Experience with set-up on CNC Lathe, Mill and wire EDM

Experience with CMM and surface plate Inspection

Programming experience a plus
