Facilities Engineer
Based in Columbus, OH, we are an industry leader supporting multiple manufacturing operations through facility infrastructure management, capital project execution, and continuous improvement initiatives across complex industrial environments.
We're seeking a Facilities Engineer with experience supporting manufacturing facilities, utility systems, and capital projects. This role will partner closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, safety, and quality teams to improve facility reliability, manage infrastructure upgrades, and support business growth across multiple locations.
Role and Responsibilities
Support facility infrastructure systems including electrical distribution, HVAC, compressed air, natural gas, water, wastewater, steam, boiler, and fire protection systems
Conduct facility assessments and recommend infrastructure, utility, and reliability improvements
Coordinate contractors, consultants, and service providers to ensure quality, safety, and project compliance
Assist with planning, budgeting, and execution of capital projects across multiple manufacturing facilities
Develop project scopes, equipment specifications, facility layouts, and installation plans
Monitor project schedules, budgets, milestones, contractor performance, and equipment commissioning activities
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on facility reliability, energy reduction, operational efficiency, and production flow optimization
Participate in root cause investigations, corrective actions, and facility improvement projects
Support compliance with OSHA, EPA, FDA, BRCGS, NFPA, and applicable regulatory requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related engineering discipline
2-8 years of engineering experience within manufacturing, industrial, consumer products, or food processing environments
Experience supporting facility infrastructure systems and capital improvement projects preferred
Knowledge of manufacturing utilities, facility operations, and industrial safety practices
Experience managing contractors and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously
Proficiency with AutoCAD or similar drafting software preferred
Willingness to travel approximately 25%-40% to support multiple facilities and engineering projects
