The Department of Sociology is now inviting applications for a post of Lecturer. Applicants should have (i) a doctoral degree in sociology; (ii) relevant teaching experience; and (iii) demonstrated potential for effective teaching (at the undergraduate and Master programme level) in digital society and artificial intelligence, and/or sociology of media and culture.

Preference will be given to applicants with teaching expertise in the following areas: sociology of technology, sociology of work and organisations, media and society, sociological theory, or a broad range of subfields. The appointee is expected to also participate/provide service in departmental teaching development, community liaison, and other academic activities.

The appointment will be made on a contract basis for one to two years, targeted to start in August 2026 or as soon as practicable thereafter, renewable subject to performance and mutual agreement. Screening of applications will be conducted on an ongoing basis until the post is filled.
