Field Service Technician

Job Description

HiFyve is hiring a Field Service Technician in the Heavy Equipment industry in Columbus, OH!

Salary: $29–$37/hour - Company Truck

Shift: Full-Time Monday–Friday (hours may vary)

Location: Columbus, OH

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Inspect, diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical deficiencies on heavy equipment in shop and field environments

Perform independent field service repairs without direct supervision

Repair and replace components including engines, hydraulic systems, air conditioning, suspension, braking, steering, drive-train, and electrical systems

Perform welding, brazing, fabrication, and modification of parts and equipment as required

Read and interpret hydraulic and electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals

Source, order, and install replacement parts as needed to complete repairs

Maintain compliance with all safety regulations, quality standards, and DOT requirements

Communicate repair causes and corrective actions to supervisors and customers

Travel and work remotely, including overnight stays, as required

Education Requirements

High School Diploma or GED (required)

Technical or vocational school training (preferred)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

General knowledge of complex hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and drive-train systems

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Ability to diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, drive-train, and air conditioning systems

Welding and fabrication experience

Knowledge of heavy equipment operation

Ability to use electrical and hydraulic testing equipment

Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record

Ability to obtain and maintain DOT Medical Certification
