Vacation: 2 weeks
Work Hours: 40 hours per week
Schedule: Holidays, Monday to Friday, Weekend availability

Specific Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care to residents in accordance with established care plans, physician’s orders, and applicable healthcare standards.
- Monitor, assess, and document residents’ physical, emotional, and mental health conditions and report changes to the registered nurse or physician.
- Administer medications, treatments, and injections as prescribed by physicians and monitor residents for side effects or adverse reactions.
- Assist residents with activities of daily living, including mobility support, personal hygiene, dressing, feeding, and toileting when required.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date nursing records, care documentation, and incident reports in compliance with facility policies and provincial regulations.
- Collaborate with physicians, registered nurses, healthcare aides, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated resident care.
- Supervise and provide guidance to healthcare aides and support staff to ensure quality care and resident safety.
- Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid, wound care, and other nursing interventions within the scope of practice of a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Educate residents and their families regarding health conditions, medications, treatments, and wellness strategies to support resident well-being.
- Ensure infection prevention and control procedures are followed, including proper sanitation, use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to safety protocols within the senior care facility.
Education and Experience
- Minimum of completion of an approved Practical Nursing diploma program.
- Active registration and valid practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the Province of Alberta.
- Current membership in good standing with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses and Health Care Aides of Alberta (CLPNA/CLHA).
- Successful completion of the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Examination (CPNRE) or equivalent licensing examination.
- Minimum 2 years of recent experience working as a Licensed Practical Nurse, preferably in a seniors care, long-term care, or assisted living environment.
- Strong knowledge of medication administration, infection prevention and control, resident assessment, and documentation procedures.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to provide compassionate, resident-focused care while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
- Ability to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and statutory holidays as required.
- Clear criminal record check and vulnerable sector check may be required.
