Pay Rate: $14.39/Hour
$15.49/Hour for Lakewood retirees
About the Role
Dedicated School Staffing is seeking reliable and compassionate Substitute Educational Aides/Paraprofessionals to support students and teachers when regular staff members are unavailable. This position plays a key role in maintaining a safe, inclusive, and productive learning environment. Substitute aides provide classroom support, assist with individualized student needs, and help ensure continuity of services across both general and special education settings.
Key Responsibilities
Assist classroom teachers with instruction, activities, and supervision
Provide one-on-one and small-group support to students, including those with special needs
Implement accommodations and modifications as directed by the teacher or intervention specialist
Support students with daily routines such as organization, transitions, and lesson engagement
Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, and during arrival or dismissal
Help maintain a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment
Follow established lesson plans, behavior plans, and safety procedures
Communicate clearly with teachers, staff, and administrators
Document student observations, progress, or incidents as required
Required Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent required
Valid educational aide permit or higher teaching license (as required by state regulations)
Clean criminal background check
Ability to work with children in a patient, professional, and supportive manner
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to follow directions and adapt to different classroom environments and student needs
Physical ability to assist students as needed (e.g., mobility support, classroom tasks)
Adherence to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with children, particularly in educational or childcare settings
Previous experience supporting students with disabilities
Training in behavior management or de-escalation strategies
