Position Title: Substitute School Secretary

Location: Orange City Schools / Pepper Pike, OH

Employment Type: As Needed / Part-Time / On-Call

Pay Rate: $14.00–$15.00/Hour

About the Role

Dedicated School Staffing is seeking dependable, organized, and service-oriented Substitute School Secretaries to support front office operations during staff absences. This position helps ensure schools run smoothly by assisting students, families, and staff while maintaining a professional and welcoming office environment.

Key Responsibilities

Welcome students, families, staff, and visitors with professionalism and courtesy

Manage incoming phone calls, route messages, and handle communication efficiently

Support attendance tracking, student arrivals/departures, and daily office workflows

Perform clerical duties such as filing, copying, data entry, and document organization

Assist with scheduling, communication distribution, and administrative coordination

Maintain strict confidentiality regarding student and staff information

Follow all district procedures, safety protocols, and office guidelines

Provide support during drills, emergencies, or unexpected situations

Work collaboratively with building administrators and office staff to support operations

Required Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age

Successful completion of criminal background screening

Completion of Ohio ID account setup and enrollment in the Ohio Rapback program

Strong customer service and communication skills

Basic proficiency with computers and office software (email, documents, data systems)

Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Professionalism, reliability, and strong attention to detail

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately

Compliance with the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Ohio Educators

Preferred Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent

Prior experience in office administration, customer service, or school environments

Familiarity with student information systems or office technology platforms

Ability to stay composed and adaptable during busy or high-pressure situations
