A Program Assistant position is available to work with adult students with intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and mental health disorders, in a unique work readiness program in academic and community settings. This is an opportunity to help others develop and make meaningful change in their lives.

• Serve as a mentor and role model in building and maintaining collegial, professional and collaborative work relationships with students and other staff.

• Assist with instruction and reinforcement of program curriculum, and participate in learning activities with students.

• Act as job coach for small group of students in the workplace during work experience days of the semester.

• Monitor and assist students in the cafeteria, on campus, in the community and navigating transportation.

• Perform daily reporting and complete an end of semester review on each assigned student.

• Assist with light administrative tasks.


High school diploma or GED required.

Minimum of 5 years of employment experience, or higher education and work experience, desired.

Reliable transportation (may need to travel to more than one location in Luzerne County during the day).

Strong work ethic, communication skills and dependability.

Computer skills: Internet navigation, email, data entry.

PA Human Services clearances will be conducted prior to employment.

This position is part-time, per diem. General scheduled hours are 8:45am –3:15pm, M-F. Work days based on college academic calendar.
