Position Overview

Kimball Electronics, a leading contract manufacturer of industrial and medical products is seeking an experienced Financial Analyst for our Indianapolis, Indiana location, to ensure customer satisfaction, business success, and GAAP compliance by a focused approach on quoting activities for our customer base, as well as maintaining and providing financial transactions and information while applying accounting principles in theory and practice.

Reporting directly to the Controller of the facility, our Financial Analysts are responsible for contributing to a variety of general ledger responsibilities, reporting, and data analysis to support and continuously improve our compliance to corporate reporting and operational customer service to the Plant.

Basic Background Requirements

Consideration for this position requires the following:

•1 to 3 years of Accounting

•2 - 4 year degree in Accounting or equivalent experience

•Intermediate level skills with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word) in a financial role.

•Demonstrated ability to independently develop comprehensive reports and spreadsheets.

•Experience with Cost Accounting functions preferable

•Ability to analyze data, research errors, understand the related financial impacts and formulate the required corrective actions.

•Ability to clearly communicate and share information with both internal and external customers at various levels within the organization.

Key Performance Objectives

Short Term (0 to 6 months):

•Work with the Finance team to gain an understanding of the internal systems and processes utilized in the organization.

•Daily, Weekly and Monthly business unit reporting such as: Scrap, Excess Inventory, Material Variances, and Labor Efficiency

•Month End closing tasks and analysis as assigned in alignment with the general accounting functions

•Business Process Audits

•Fixed Asset Accounting

•Profitability Analysis

•Participation in Forecasting activities

•Balance sheet account reconciliations

•Participation in the annual costing and labor rate activities, tax package, inventory functions and other tasks/projects as needed.

Long Term (6 to 12 months):

•Gain knowledge particular to our business unit and the contract manufacturing environment

•Participation in continuous improvement projects

•Continue to enhance and improve profitability reporting

•Implement quote to actual performance reporting
