Our client is looking for a Security Administrator for a 12 month contract based out of Irving, TX. The Security Admin will be responsible for defending the client's information from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, disruption, modification, perusal, inspection, recording or destruction.

Major Responsibilities

Identifies security risks, threats and vulnerabilities of networks, systems, applications and new technology initiatives.

Develops, tests and oversees technical solutions, such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, enterprise anti-virus systems and patching solutions.

Provides complex engineering analysis and support for firewalls, routers, networks and operating systems.

Oversees and evaluates vulnerability scans within a multi-platform enterprise environment.

Reacts to and initiates corrective action regarding security violations, such as attempts to gain unauthorized access, inappropriate web traffic and virus infections.

Performs complex product evaluations, recommends and implements products / services for enterprise security.

Validates and tests complex security architecture and design solutions to produce detailed engineering specifications with recommended vendor technologies.

Reviews, recommends and oversees the installation, modification or replacement of hardware or software components and any configuration change(s) that affects security.

Provides technical work guidance to less experienced personnel.

Perform project leadership tasks on select security projects.

Provide assistance and guidance on architectural / technical issues to both the business and internal IT.

Continually review and enhance existing knowledge of the security aspects of common product sets and technologies.

In collaboration with the Information Security Manager, the Director of Technology and the CIO, determines security improvements, budget and actual systems and solutions to be implemented in defense of information and information systems.

Other Internal / External Interactions

Consult with Information Security Organization, Director of Technology and CIO.

Support the Information Security needs of Internal IT & Enterprise Business.

Interact with Vendors, Suppliers and 3rd Party Support Personnel.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred; consideration given for technical knowledge as it relates to a degree. Advanced degree focused on Information Security or Information Assurance preferred.

Must have 8 years’ Information Technology work experience, with at least 6 years’ focusing on Information Security; oil and gas experience preferred.

CISSP, CEH, CISA or equivalent certification required.

Experience working with leading firewall, anti-virus, log management, network scanning, encryption and intrusion detection technologies, such as Palo Alto, Fortinet, McAfee, Nessus, LogRhythm required.

Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve network, desktop and operating system security issues.

Experience performing risk analysis activities and leading cyber security assessments and remediation required.

Experience guiding and overseeing the writing, updating & implementing of InfoSec policies, procedures and standards required.

Must be team oriented with demonstrated skills working with people and supporting their needs with a sense of urgency in solving customer issues.

Must have good written and oral communication skills.

Must possess an in-depth knowledge of security standards, such as COBIT or ISO.

Must have demonstrated skills innovating to solve complex problems.

Must be able to interpret and understand guidelines and innovate around them in a challenging environment to provide excellent support.
