Sr. QA Automation Developer - F

Location: Toronto

We interact and work under the guidance of Agile principles. As a QA Automation Developer you would join one of our agile teams, and:

Establish a new automation framework for testing where necessary, which could leverage the existing Selenium framework or be orchestrated from both existing APIs and front end UI.

Maintain high quality standards within the automation code and apply a working knowledge of test automation practices.

Perform manual testing when required by the agile team.

Utilize appropriate automation tools e.g. Selenium.

Write automated test code including UI automation.

Integrate Test Automation execution into existing Continuous Integration workflow with Atlassian Bamboo and Stash.

Develop automated tests ensuring our products behave as they are designed.

Make strategic decisions about the automation tools and techniques involved in the QA process.

Manually test or automate the testing of maintenance fixes made for products already in Production.

Desired Skills and Experience

Degree in computer science, engineering or equivalent technical discipline.

3+ years of Software Automation experience.

Demonstrated knowledge of Test Automation patterns.

Familiarity with agile development and management practices.

Knowledge and understanding of software automation practices.

Experience with a variety of test automation tools e.g. Selenium, Xcode and Android Studio.

Be comfortable with iterative and incremental development.

Be willing to help your teammates, share your knowledge with them, and learn from them.

Be open to receiving feedback.

Technical Knowledge

Knowledge of Content Management Systems to enable test data creation e.g. MPX. Polopoly, Expression Engine and MT Blogs.

Able to learn new automation technologies and share information to other team members for testing


Mentor team members in automation.

Provide guidance and direction for scrum teams who want to adopt automation for the products that they develop.

Interpersonal and Communication Skills

This position requires excellent communication skills.

The incumbent must be able to communicate in writing and verbally, and must be expert in listening and receiving communications from others of varying levels of computer expertise.

Must be able to clearly explain objectives, requirements and directions to others, particularly when guiding and mentoring team members.,
