REPORTS TO: Retail Accounting Supervisor
NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: The hours and days of work are established as needed by operations and at the direction of management. For this position the hours generally will be 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. with an unpaid one-half hour lunch, Monday through Friday with over time as determined by operational needs and management.
FORMAL EDUCATION REQUIRED: Reading, mathematical and analytical skills are required for this position but an accounting degree is preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Twelve months’ previous experience in clerical capacity; previous skills using a PC; previous date entry experience a must.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: Preparation of various payables related to C-store (c-store eft payments) as well as C-store vendor statement reconciliations.
In order to fulfill the function described above, and employee must be able to accomplish the following tasks with reasonable accommodation:
1.Maintain a high level of service as provided in our corporate philosophy.
2.Verify and prepare weekly C-store EFT settlements payables including core mark.
3.Responsible for verification of all vendor invoices/statements, including related follow up research and monthly vendor statement reconciliations.
4.Responsible for data entry of all vendor invoices/statements.
5.Prepare franchise accounting notification letter for each revenue share location each month.
6.Advises by verbal and/ written communication with Area Managers and Retail Accounting supervisor any discrepancies or improper reporting by c-store location.
7.Work with Franchise Accountant to resolve issues related to C-store inventory adjustments.
8.Performs special projects, accounting and analytical work as requested and in support of the department.
9.Analyze key accounts, such as; cash over/short, drive-offs and cash vendor and lottery/money order commissions on a continual basis so that management may be informed of any problems prior to month end.

3.Proficient skill using Microsoft Office products – primarily Outlook and Excel

5.Must be able to work with high demand workload and against tight deadlines

ENVIRONMENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Position requires the incumbent to work in a climate controlled office environment using standard office equipment including telephone, calculator, photocopy machine, and PC computer, with the ability to utilize server applications. Position will require some standing, stooping and bending to perform routine daily filing. Lifting requirements are restricted to no more than 20 pounds which may be to re-arrange office machines in work area or to lift boxes of archive files for storage or photocopy paper to fill machine.
• Position is hourly and pays between $15.18 to $18.98
• Position will report into HQ in La Plata.
• Entry level position – reconciliation and journal entry experience required
• Preference will be given to those with Accounting degrees but it’s not a deal breaker if they don’t have it and instead have the experience.
• Heavy work load and must meet demanding deadlines.
• Good communication skills and must be able to work independently.
