Seeking a Network Systems – LAN/WAN Engineer to provide support to the build out of a client's call center infrastructure.


Performs system planning, architecture, engineering, implementation, and support of Cisco networking technology.


Minimum 5 years proven advanced Cisco experience

5 years+ of advanced network experience, Cisco & Juniper Network enterprise environments preferred

4 years experience working with Riverbed LAN/WAN optimization technology.

Experience in implementation, and monitoring of large scale network environments leveraging Cisco technology or any combination of academic education, professional training or work experience, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position

Proven ability to deliver design, architecture, project support, and maintenance work in a large multi-vendor technical environment

In depth technical knowledge and experience with hardware architecture, operating systems, design, and implementation in large-scale multi-vendor highly structured computing environments

Excellent organizational skills, as well as written and oral communication skills

Strong troubleshooting, rationality, and critical thinking skills

Familiarity and ability to work cooperatively and promptly within strict change control environment

Ability to document and diagram environment (using VISIO for example)

Must have Packet Sniffing / interpretation skills

Flexibility in work schedule to deploy changes to these environments during evening and night and weekend hours

Advanced experience with network protocols including TCP/IP, UDP and DECnet/OSI

Experience with routing protocols including OSPF, IGRP, BGP, EIGRP

Understanding of DNS, DHCP, proxy functions (forward and reverse), security protocols (IPSec, MACsec, SSL, GET VPN), and time protocols (NTP)

Advanced understanding of IP addressing including IPv4, IPv6, RFC 1918, NAT, PAT

Understanding of network services such as WAAS, GRE, AAA, QoS, COS

Excellent verbal and written communications skills; Ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical people that ensures their understanding

Interpersonal skills that demonstrate collaboration, facilitation, influencing and negotiating

Knowledge of hardware, software, application and systems engineering; Knowledge of business for which the enterprise architecture is being developed

Project and program management, organization and time management skills

Knowledge of IT governance operations

Customer service orientation

Knowledge of Network Authentication Products and Architectures

Knowledge of Cisco Tiered Infrastructure Architecture

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, related Technical Discipline, or requisite experience

Certification/License Required: Minimum of one industry recognized certification. Recent networking certifications or equivalent experience (CCNA, CCNP) helpful
