Duties & Responsibilities: Answer phones, take messages, proofread, create and modify documents, create spreadsheets using Excel, create and use mailing lists, use direct mail and E-mail, maintain and modify information on Web Sites, and other office duties.

Skills Required: Microsoft Office – Word and Excel specifically

Above Average Written & Oral Communication Skills; Proofreading

Able to use Internet and other research tools

Self-starter – able to work in loosely structured environment

General business knowledge helpful, finance/accounting knowledge helpful

Hours: Typically Monday to Friday between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm; no evenings or weekends. Hours can vary and be up to 35 hours/week or so as work load demands and the person is available.

Compensation: Hourly, flexible schedule

Comments: Our business is advising Business Owners that wish to sell their businesses, and advising Buyers of businesses. We also provide Business Appraisals/Valuations, Machinery & Equipment Appraisals, and Consulting Services in the areas of Business Planning and Financial matters.

The Assistant will be exposed to a many different businesses and types of businesses, what they do, how they operate, and their value. Some of the tasks are repetitive, but the purpose and results are often different and should be interesting to anyone that wants to learn about all aspects of businesses.
