Provides mechanical design support to the Operations Support Team for internal projects. Maintains, repairs, designs and builds molds, mold components, trim dies, fixtures, gages and other machining components.


1. Designs Molds, Jigs and Fixtures - provides methodical analysis of same for process improvement / trouble shooting.

2. Communicates with internal and external customers to design and implement project methods and standards for use from inception to delivery of product.

3. Provides project management support, including phase reviews, design and development, problem resolution, full documentation, costing and deliverables.

4. Evaluates final design for possible changes to enhance compatibility and functional performance.

5. Serves as a technical resource for tooling evaluation, selection and design feasibility

6. Evaluates failed equipment components for possible changes to enhance functional performance and improve equipment uptime.


• Proficiency in tool design utilizing 2 and 3D CAD (MasterCam a definite plus)

• Thorough working knowledge of material feeds and speeds and skills in print interpretation and GD&T

• Solid understanding of molds, trim dies, fixtures and die-casting operations; gate and runner design proficiency

• 5+ years related experience in die casting, tooling

• Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred

• Strong mechanical and machinery aptitude


• Strong Die Cast Operations experience

• Associate Degree or Trade Program Certificate in Die Casting / Technologies
