Position: EMT Instructor – Public Safety – Adult Workforce Development

Reports To: Chief Public Safety/Adult Workforce Development Director

Qualifications: Successful applicants must have or be able to obtain an active Ohio EMS Certification for EMR, EMT, AEMT, or Paramedic, and an active Ohio Fire & Emergency Services Instructor (FESI) Level I or Level II certification; Have or be able to secure a valid adult education permit from the Ohio State Board of Education; Working knowledge of Ohio Department of Public Safety policies and regulations is required; Strong communication skills are necessary; Must demonstrate the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and community partners; Ability to utilize technology including Google applications and learning management systems is preferred; Successfully pass a BCI/FBI background check.

Responsibilities: Provide effective day-to-day instruction and management of students; Collaborate with program leadership to ensure curriculum and instruction align with Ohio Department of Public Safety standards and program requirements; Maintain student and instructional records in accordance with Department of Safety record retention laws; Assist in maintaining course schedules and addressing student and faculty issues; Monitor student progress and update student records; Represent the EMT program to students, prospective students and community partners; Participate in advisory committee activities and recruitment events; Maintain professional relationships across departments and within the community; Ensure all district and program activities adhere to applicable policies, procedures, and legal guidelines; Other duties as assigned.

Salary: Placement on the Adult part-time as needed hourly schedule.
