Bricklayer – Full Time Position

Location: Sydney, NSW Salary: $75,000 – $80,000 + superannuation Employment Type: Full time Start Date: Immediate

Position Summary

The Bricklayer is responsible for laying bricks, pre cut stone, and various types of building blocks in mortar to construct and repair walls, partitions, arches, and other structural features. The role involves interpreting plans, preparing surfaces, and ensuring precise alignment and workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

• Study plans and specifications to determine required materials, dimensions, and installation procedures

• Erect and dismantle restricted height scaffolding in accordance with WHS requirements

• Seal foundations with damp resistant materials

• Spread mortar layers to serve as the base and binder for blocks

• Lay bricks in rows, patterns, and shapes, applying mortar between joints

• Embed blocks in mortar and remove excess material

• Check vertical and horizontal alignment using appropriate tools

• Cut, shape, and polish stones and bricks using machines and hand tools

• Shape bricks to fit irregular spaces

• Repair and maintain brickwork, cement blocks, and related structures

• Design and cut monumental masonry and lettering

• Construct walls using stone slabs and large masonry slab blocks

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Bricklayer

• Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications

• Strong understanding of building codes, WHS standards, and safe work practices

• Physically fit and able to work in outdoor environments

• White Card (mandatory)

• Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail
