Automotive Technician

Pickering Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ltd. is seeking four (4) skilled and dependable Automotive Mechanics to join our fast-paced service team. In this role, you will diagnose, repair, and maintain automotive, commercial transport truck, and truck-trailer systems. If you have a sharp eye for detail, strong manual dexterity, and a commitment to quality workmanship, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnostics & Testing: Inspect mechanical units, test automotive systems/components, and road-test vehicles to accurately locate faults and malfunctions.

Repairs & Maintenance: Adjust, repair, or replace parts and components of automotive, commercial transport, and truck-trailer systems. Repair or replace mechanical units to manufacturer specifications.

Routine Service: Perform scheduled maintenance services and test/adjust repaired systems to ensure optimal performance.

Collaboration & Communication: Review work orders, discuss findings with supervisors to determine repair paths, and accurately complete service reports.

Customer Service: Advise customers on work performed and identify future repair requirements.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Other trades certificate or diploma in automobile/automotive mechanics technology.

Experience: 3 to less than 5 years of professional automotive service experience.

Credentials: Must hold an Automotive Service Technician Trade Certification and/or an Automotive Service Technician Red Seal Certificate.

Screening Requirements: Must pass a criminal record check and provide a valid driving record abstract.

Licensing: A valid driver’s license is required.

Tools: Must possess your own tools/equipment and steel-toed safety boots.

Work Environment & Physical Capabilities

Fast-paced garage environment requiring strong hand-eye coordination and strict attention to detail.

Ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual labor requiring dexterity.
