This position will maintain and optimize Carmeuse land and lease data ensuring integration with the organizations ArcGIS cloud environment. This role will ensure data accuracy and work to build consistent workflows across land related functions. This position will complete an annual lease audit ensuring all data is current and up to date, and identify opportunities for revenue growth. Additional responsibilities include identifying new land valorization opportunities for non-mined or reclaimed land, working with third parties to develop land use plans to ensure long-term value and support of land acquisition strategy as needed. . This person will report through the Geology Department. However, extensive cross functional collaboration will be required, with operations, legal, and environmental departments.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Maintaining ArcGIS land database in ESRI Cloud Environment
Assist legal department in annual lease audit, ensuring all documentation is up to date and updating spatial database
Coordinate efforts with the finance department to compile annual lease revenue
Compiling market information to benchmark current lease rates to determine where there may be room for improvement
Serve as technical liaison between Carmeuse and ESRI
Coordinate land focused tasks with outside consultants
Reading legal descriptions and updating maps as required
Assistance with GIS projects involving the geology and mining teams
Coordinate long-term reclamation studies with the goal of maximizing future property values
Ensure current operational plans will not negatively impact future land use plans
Assist as needed with land acquisitions via market research, analyzing valuations and appraisals, etc.
Monitor trends and key changes in legal and regulatory compliance for remediation, zoning, mine permitting, etc.
Support Land Valorization Team with quarterly Real Estate Valorization updates to the Chairman of the Board
Support of the Renewable Energy Team with identifying properties for solar projects to support Carmeuse's Sustainability Journey
Job Qualifications:
BS in GIS, Land Management, or other related field
5+ years of related experience or a Masters in related field
Knowledge in ArcGIS desktop, cloud based platforms and related workflows
MS Office Suite
AutoCAD familiarity
Strong collaboration skills
Ability to work independently and take initiative
Strong organization and prioritization skills with multiple projects occurring simultaneously
Ability to travel regularly to locations assigned with different projects 25% - 50%
Fluency in oral and written English
Benefits & Compensation:
Annual Base Salary Range of $85,000 - $110,000, depending on experience
