Project Description:

This project involves customization and maintenance of CYBERLIFE product for very large Life insurance client Allstate Financial.

Role / Responsibilities Senior Software Engineer

Contribution:

• Analyzing requirements, designing the system modifications and coding, unit testing and implementing them per business needs.

• Leading a team of 7 CyberLife mainframe developers, coordinating their efforts and ensuring quality deliveries with minimum schedule variance. This involves attending business requirement walkthrough for complex enhancements and production tickets, translating them to a high level design for other team members to code and unit test, tracking project progress and ensuring quality and on time delivery.

• Working independently or in a team and consulting Business Analysts on the system capabilities for them to design the business requirements.

• Providing the nightly cycle support for various jobs and abends.

• Responsible for mentoring and providing consulting support to other programmers onshore and offshore in their work and projects.

• Developing the mainframe environment and scheduling batch cycles for specific projects for testing purposes.

• Involved in the brain storming sessions of Complex modifications and enhancements on the development and support side.

• Training new resources into the various aspects of the project, which includes familiarization with CyberLife product.

• Member of CyberLife release upgrade team for Allstate. My task involves verifying the CSC base releases to understand if support is present for business requirements, provide estimates and efforts required to install the changes in Allstate version of CyberLife.

Project Description:

This project involves maintaining and customization of General Motors Vehicle information Data base Legacy system components.

Contribution:

• Analyze requirements, design, coding, and unit testing and implement them into the system.

• As a senior team member I was responsible to review other team member’s work and deliver then to client.

• Involved in maintaining VID application, solving abends production cycle abends, worked on adhoc customer requests and user requests.

• Involved in solving and fixing critical production incidents/ticket raised by downstream applications or by customers/Users under specified SLA.

• Involved in major system Enhancement Requests (MER’s) and involved in Coding, Testing and Implementing the MER’s to production environment.

• Responsible for storing all project deliverable in T-Rooms, which was the common document repository of General Motors for all project related documents

• Involved in Batch Monitoring and support in CA-7. Batch job inquiry, cancel batch jobs, demand batch jobs into the system, restart batch jobs that are in an abended state, rerun batch jobs etc.

• Responsible to provide knowledge transition related to project to new team members project including Project Lead who had joined the team newly.

• Single Point of contact during the month end GM sales reporting production batch cycle for any issues.
