Hope Academy at Booker T. Washington (New Orleans, LA) August 2009 – July 2011
• Lead three math classes daily, each for 90 minutes, in an alternative school setting (grades 7-12) for over-age students with a prior history of “unsatisfactory” performance on iLEAP and LEAP standardized tests
• 8th graders from my class passed the 2010 LEAP standardized test at a rate double that of the previous year; 40% of 9th graders in my class passed the 2011 Algebra I End of Course Test, tripling the previous year’s alternative-school average
• Increased student mastery of math content standards by at least 30% in all classes taught, including 7th grade math, 8th grade math, 9th grade remedial math, Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II
