Career OverView

Having 6 years of experience in Software testing (manual/automation/performance), using automation tools from Compuware, Mercury Interactive and HP. Worked with major Indian Software Consultants like Tata Consultancy Services and Tech Mahindra Ltd. Currently working as Technical associate with Tata Consultancy Ltd. I have been leading a software testing team which is located at India and London to assure the quality of the software products from Montreal Canada. I have a very good exposure to Software test lyfe cycles and different testing methods like automation testing, manual testing and performance testing.

1. SIRen - Tata Consultancy Services Ltd March 2008– Till Date

Location – Chennai India (March 2008 to Nov 2009)

It is the strategic and enterprise wide Delivery Instruction and Financial Institutions platform and is a replacement for Legacy MDI and the Legacy Financial institutions file. It is a renovation system built with .Net 2.0 acting as a repository of all the Settlement Instruction in Morgan Stanley. Before SIRen was built, Legacy was holding all the Settlement Instructions together. Not all the Settlement Instructions are migrated yet and hence many of the clients still use the legacy systems. It is a 3 tier application consisting of a GUI for data maintenance, a Middleware layer (Java MW that resides on the Linux Webfarm) and a database (DB2 on the Mainframe). As a testing team, we could do various types of testing activity on this application as regression testing (Automated), MW testing, JXB testing (For back bridge testing).

As an Test Lead my responsibilities are as follows -

Preliminary discussion of the project with the core team.

Come up with the test plan after a thorough understanding of requirements.

Upload all reviewed test cases in test management tool like QC.

Analyze the test cases and plan the design for the same for automation approach.

Follow up with developers on the registered defects

2. . Project Name – iApprove Client -Morgan Stanley Oct 2007 – March 2008

Location – Chennai India

iApprove is a Framework being developed to support the various approval and workflow requirements for the firm. This includes support of the account approval process, which enable the user to do the trade activities with their newly created accounts. As iApprove is the advanced version of an existing application, user is able to Approve or Decline the newly created accounts which come to WorkQ based on the entitlement given to him/her.

This will enable and ensure that all client confidentiality requirements will be handled consistently. At the same time the important aspect of this project is reduce the firms risk considerably.

As an Software Tester and Automation Developer my responsibilities are as follows -

Preliminary discussion of the project with the core team.

Come up with the test plan after a thorough understanding of requirements.

Write all possible test cases and get sign off from the business team.

3. 21 CN Test Automation Center – Tech Mahindra Ltd.

Location – Pune India January 2007 – October 2007

21 CN Test Automation Center primarily deals with the automated testing of various components and systems within British Telecom(BT).BT handles various applications, which are classified as components. Each of the components has regression test packs developed by the component level testing team. As and when any component is due for a new release, the CST is responsible for executing the regression test packs, which authenticate the application for the functionalities used.

The project on 21CN Test Automation Center involves using the regression test packs from the component level testing teams or the IVV&T team & building up an automated regression test suite using automated tools..

Business Support System – Phoenix

BT Exact (or BT One IT) is responsible for the various IT programs for BT Global Services (BTGS). BTGS operates out of many countries in Europe and the rest of the world. Each country has a billing system catering to local operations. BTGS has the Standard Operating Environment (SOE) program to rationalize close to 100 billing systems and harmonize its product offerings across the globe.

BSS Test Automation Centre offshore team is to automate the Phoenix SOE application using the Win Runner Tool. The offshore team, using the individual accesses/permissions provided by BT, accesses the Phoenix Environment. Using Geneva client, Automation team creates different types of customers,accounts,budget center and products in Customer Account Maintanance. After the successful creation of customer, Event and Control files will upload to the server and in System Monitor different Tasks like Billing and Rating tasks will execute and the bill will generate.

Switch Manager is the BT’s network Operations Support System (OSS) within UK that provides a single point interface between the exchanges, maintenance users, administrative users, exchange data users and other computer based network systems. Provision/Cessation of exchange telephone lines, Altering customer facilities, Network Management, Exchange fault reports and maintenance are some of the capabilities provided by the SM. SM mainly deals with the System-X (Marconi) and AXE10 (Ericsson) digital exchanges.
