A counselors aid is responsible for coordinating and supplying benefits and resources to assist individuals with disabilities. The counselors helped disable individuals achieve their goals in the work force. To ensure that individuals are being properly transitioned into the areas they will like to pursue in their lives, after program. This includes providing programs and services that will help benefit participants in their life's journey. The range of duties for a youth counselor varies. Counselors must be responsible to work with teens, plan interactive and educational activities, manage youths' time with individuals and groups. To use my Sociological imagination in real life scenarios, critical thinking skills enabling me to analyze structures and the linkages between macro-structure, micro-structure and individuals that are effected. I posses the ability to understand and analyze social institutions, processes, and behavior. Sociological theory, concepts and methods to everyday life problems.

My experience comes from two college research projects called NJ Health Care – a survey administered by St. Peters college monitored by Dr. Alex Trillo part of Sociology Department. This project gave me real life experience in quantitative, and qualitative research skills. I am able to show my skill set with writing. I exhibit the 'out of the box' school of thought.

2011 Senior out reach project monitored by Dr. Malone, helped developed a youth forum for Jersey City troubled youth. It consisted of seven high schools where ten students from each school were selected to express their views on violence prevention and solutions one being college preparation as an action plan. I was the class leader and out-reach teams adviser.

Volunteer Activities

Magnificant House 2011 – Aid for residents in the house, clean, cook, talk.

Aids Walk NY 2011 – Raised funds for walk.

Go Get My Kids Inc 2011 – Secretary for organization, chaperone to high school students, help organize programs.

Girl Scouts Heart of NJ 2010 – on call volunteer assisted with trips, and programs for children.
