Director of Respiratory Care/Noninvasive Cardiology/Sleep Center/Neruodiagnostics/Pulmonary Rehabilitation/DME

• Manage staff of a 49 bed acute care facility to include 9 respiratory therapists, one Pulmonary Rehab coordinator, one RPSG technologist, one DME technician, one Neurodiagnostic Technician, and one receptionist. Provide in-patient and out-patient services to include PFT’s and Stress Tests.

• Sole responsibility for purchasing capital equipment for all areas of the department.

• With input from the CFO develop and manage an operating budget that includes over 8 million dollars in revenue with total expenses at 12-15%.

• Increased revenue by identifying and resolving billing department issues related to unbilled procedures.

• Developed a Pulmonary Rehabilitation program which is now one of two AACVPR accredited programs in the state.

• Developed a Holter and Event Monitor program.

• Implemented a paperless EKG system that allows physicians to read studies anywhere.

• Developed a DME department that was originally designed to provide our Sleep Center patients a high quality option for purchasing equipment. This department has expanded to Wound Care, Surgery and Physical Medicine and has increased net income from $6204.00 in FY 08 to $144,463.00 in FY 12.

• Responsible for hiring, training, and supervising personnel. Prepare annual performance reviews. Plan and lead personnel orientations. Apply hospital policies for disciplinary actions when needed.

• Develop and implement policies and procedures, working closely with clinical staff.

• Coordinate and lead monthly departmental meetings.

• Successfully maintain compliance with all JCAHO, OSHA, and FDA regulations. Oversee preparations for JCAHO accreditation inspection every three years.

Night shift therapist responsible for all aspects of respiratory including ventilator management, ABG draws and analysis, aerosol therapy, all respiratory emergencies in the ED, attended all C/S and complicated deliveries. Only one therapist worked nights so time management was paramount.

NICU Respiratory Therapist 1997-1999

Providence Alaska Medical Center, Anchorage, AK

Responsible for management of HFOV, pressure ventilation, NCPAP, and O2 and aerosol therapy on infants from 28 weeks gestation to term infants. Obtained and analyzed ABG’s, intubated infants under the supervision of the Neonatologist.
