Objective: I am a self-motivated, detail oriented, hard worker seeking a career as a Medical Transcriptionist. I have a background of 30+ years in psychiatric transcription and recently completed training through Career Step. I would like to gain new skills and experience in medical transcription as a home-based medical transcriptionist to allow me to fully utilize my skills and ability.

Position Sought: Transcriptionist

Experience: Senior Office Support Assistant with the Missouri Department of Mental Health in Human Resources for 17 years which began in 04/1977 to 08/1994. Transferred to intermediate security to supervise ward clerks and one typist in 08/1994 to perform transcription of psychiatric and psychology reports until 04/2001. Transferred to Transcription Pool to supervise seven full-time transcriptionists, assuring quality of work and timely work-flow as the primary liaison to resolve system-related problems that arose with professional staff who dictated documents, providing them with guidance concerning dictating, editing, and electronically signing their documents. Completed training in medical transcription through Career Step. Attention to detail. Ability to multi-task. Ability to work without supervision. Excellent transcription skills. Computer proficiency in Windows Vista, Fusion, Mediscribe, Dictaphone, and Windows XP Professional.
