I have 16 years of experience as a welder/metalworker with AWS GDLS certification. Extremely knowledgeable and proficient in the following welding processes: oxyacetylene welding & cutting, PAC, GTAW, SMAW, FCAW and GMAW. I’m capable in welding in the following positions: flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead position. Performed welding on ballistic hulls and metals, read blue prints and associated installation instructions and performed assembly with specified tolerances. Served responsibly and honorably as full time maintenance sergeant responsible for upkeep and readiness of a M1 tank company, and supporting equipment, to include being a full time Battalion Training Representative responsible for administering maintenance and logistical support, while assigned to the 3RD Infantry Division unit. Performed gas metal arc welding and general welding. Welded all types of material such as steel, stainless steel, aluminum, and armor welded spindles, bushing and cams of vehicles responsible for other minor welding duties on maintenance of armored vehicle. Performs welder duties using electric, acetylene and/or inert gas shielded welding processes. Work involves planning, lying out work, positioning and clamping work, pre-heating metal, and maintaining temperature to prevent distortion. Uses templates, jigs, blueprints and other guides to repair, modify or fabricate metal items for all types of equipment, including repair of light or intricately made mechanical parts, which must fit in assemblies where close tolerances are required. Makes a wide range of welds from simple to precision welding; determining disassembly or repair necessary and materials to be used. Works with light, heavy gauge and hardened metals, welding all the various types of wieldable items assigned, using flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions. Established deadlines and priorities on the basis of general work schedules and methods and policies established by higher levels of supervision and command guidance for approximately 13 years. Determined how many assignments could be done concurrently, determined which ones must be delayed, and the number and types of soldiers needed to complete the mission, considered skills, personnel, materials, and equipment available and required for mission accomplishment.
