INNOVATIVE: Created, planned and managed Fleet Week, Navy Week and other nationally-visible events. Navy Band performances and other marketing resources were brought together in new and exciting branding efforts centered strategically on key events such as air shows or visiting Navy ships. This innovative coordination directly resulted in an outreach metric increase by more than 10% and generated 6,500,000 impressions in more than 500 performances.
RESOURCE MANAGEMENT & COORDINATION: Part of a 6-man team that managed the planning and development of the annual Calendar for America Conferences (determining strategic marketing targets for Navy Weeks), including facilities scheduling, agenda and itinerary, read-ahead briefings, transportation, lodging and escorts when needed. MULTI-TASKING: Directed every aspect of a 45-member Navy Band with 4 independent performing units in nearly 600 engagements annually throughout the Western Pacific. Responsible for annual budget submission and obligation, as well as the materiel readiness equipment and personnel for missions or deployments throughout the theater.

Preferentially staffed Presidential support unit, providing music for ceremonies, official functions and other occasions to best represent the Navy in a musical capacity. Primary duty as Department Head with collateral duties as Administrative Officer, Supply Officer. Associate Conductor for ceremonies/highly-visible engagements and routine support for the White House, the Pentagon and Arlington National Cemetery.
BANDMASTER, SEVENTH FLEET BAND, YOKOSUKA, JAPAN 1999-2002
Bandmaster responsible for all aspects of a 30-member fleet band forward deployed and embarked in USS BLUE RIDGE (LCC 19), providing support throughout the Western Pacific and Indian Oceans.
BANDMASTER, NAVY BAND NEW ORLEANS, NEW ORLEANS, LA 2002-2005
Bandmaster responsible for all aspects of a 35-member fleet band providing musical support throughout the Gulf Coast states.
NAVY OFFICE OF COMMUNITY OUTREACH, MILLINGTON, TN 2005-2007
Primary duty as Band Support Officer, responsible for program development, liaison and coordination of national image, awareness and branding efforts for national events. Collateral duties included the national Music for Recruiting Program Coordinator. Subject matter expert for Navy and military ceremony matters and questions as the Music Liaison for the Navy’s Chief of Information (CHINFO).
EXECUTIVE OFFICER, SCHOOL OF MUSIC, VIRGINIA BEACH, VA 2008-2010
Responsible for administration, training, readiness, operations and morale of a tri-service staff of 100 military and music instructors training basic and advanced students for units stationed and deployed around the world.
