Experience
1999 - Present WECC Salt Lake City, UT
Staff Engineer
• Responsible for management of the Generator Testing Program. As generators are tested and data sets are received, I test and validate it using the GE PSLF transient simulation program and enter it into the WECC master dynamics file.
• Chair of Power Plant Modeling Data Task Force. Responsible for finding and correcting generator dynamic data errors in WECC Master Dynamics File.
• Responsible for conversion of power flow and dynamics data from GE PSLF to PTI PSS/E format.
• Transient and post-transient simulations for annual study report. All cases in the study report are subjected to both types of analyses to detect potential problems in the interconnected power system.
• Created the loop-flow incremental matrices on a semi-annual basis before the recent upgrade to the webSAS tool. Currently prepare data sets and send to OATI for this purpose.
• Run and report on phase shifter effectiveness studies.
• WECC Staff representative on NERC SAMS (System Modeling and Analysis Subgroup). This group is primarily concerned with power system modeling, both steady state and dynamic.
• Responsible for annual preparation of WECC State of the Interconnection Report.
1997–1999 Micron Technology Boise, ID
Wet Process Technician
• Repaired, programmed, and performed preventive maintenance of wafer-handling robots in Wet Process.
• Monitored different wet etch processes for statistical deviation.
