Responsible for the design and checking of location plans, interconnection diagrams, installation details, control wiring diagrams, Vessel Design Instructions, and loop diagrams with the use of AutoCAD or Microstation and IDM (Instrument Data Manager). Assisted the Sub-Contractor in the field during construction requested by the client. Duties included instrument inspection, loop check coordination and supporting Plant Commissioning during start-up of the Units. P&ID walkdowns and I/O counts were done on other various projects for the Automation and Controls Division.

This work was done on the following projects:

Premcor Refining and Marketing, Inc Port Arthur, Texas – Clean Fuels Project, a grass roots Hydrotreater Unit with Utilities/Offsites that also included revamp work on existing units to support the upcoming capacity of the new units. All Units were designed for a Honeywell DCS system and FSC.

• Valero Refining Company Corpus Christi, Texas – Delayed Coker Unit, Hydrocracker,Hydrotreater with offsites. Instrumentation revamp of 3 existing Plants.

• Pemex Refining Company Cadereyta, Mexico – Delayed Coker Unit, a grass roots Coker and Gas Plant.

• Premcor Refining and Marketing, Inc Port Arthur, Texas - Heavy Oil Upgrade Project, a grass roots Coker and Hydrocracker Unit with Offsites that also included revamp work of 7 existing units to support the upcoming capacity for the new units. All Units were designed for a Honeywell DCS system and FSC.

STONE & WEBSTER ENGINEERING CORP. (1988 - 1998)

Senior Lead Designer, Control Systems Division - Houston Engineering Center

Responsible for the design and checking of location plans, interconnection diagrams, installation details, control wiring diagrams, and loop diagrams with the use of AutoCAD or Microstation and IDM (Instrument Data Manager). Assisted the contractor in the field requested by the client during construction, loop check coordination and instrument inspection before start-up of the project.

P&ID walkdowns were also done on various projects for the Control Systems Division.

The work was done on the following projects:

• Nova Chemicals Joffre, Alberta Canada Ethylene Plant No.3, a grass roots ethylene plant. This plant was designed for a Honeywell DCS system and a PLC system. Fluor Daniel (Canada) was responsible for the detail design and engineering of the plant and my responsibilities included detail design and engineering for the 7 furnaces. This was a joint venture project.

• Chevron USA Port Arthur Refinery Port Arthur, Texas - a revamp of an existing ethylene plant. Designed to increase the capacity of the plant by adding a ABB Advant DCS and modify the existing ABB Taylor Mod 300 control system and Triconex PLC system.

• Yaroslavl Refinery Yaroslavl, Russia - a revamp of an existing 1A/1M FCCU gasoline plant designed to increase the capacity and production of gasoline and added a Bailey control system.

• Thailand Petrochemical Industry Republic Co. LTD, Thailand - a grass roots Lube Waste Treating Plant designed for a Honeywell TDC-3000 control system.

• Dupont Chemical, Sabine River Works, Orange, Texas - a revamp of an existing ethylene plant. Replaced pneumatic instruments with electronic instruments in the cold service area.

• Belvieu Environmental Fuels, MTBE Project, Mt. Belvieu, Texas - a grass roots project designed using Honeywell TDC-3000 control system. Upon completion of design, my field assistance was required for construction.

• Thai Olefins Co. Olefins Plant Project, Thailand - a grass roots ethylene plant consisting of all preliminary engineering and DCS configuration along with a consortium partner.

• Amoco Chemical Co. Olefins Debottleneck Project, Chocolate Bayou, Texas - a revamp of project designed using Honeywell TDC-3000 control system with some additional work to the existing plant.

• Houston Lighting and Power Co., Houston, Texas - This is a revision of existing power plant control wiring diagrams incorporating a new Bailey Network 90 control system and modification of Gas Metering Stations.

• Vista Chemical Co. Ethylene Plant Expansion & Modernization Project, Lake Charles, Louisiana - a revamp for an existing plant, incorporating a new Taylor Mod 300 control system that also required field survey of existing instrumentation, designed for parallel installation of new electronics with existing pneumatics. Upon completion of design, my field assistance was required for construction.
