Coordinated safety efforts with Conoco Phillips Pipeline representatives on a pipeline pigging project from Pasadena, TX to Ponca City, OK, and similar work on a pipeline project near Philadelphia, PA. Presently in Southern Illinois on construction of a biodiesel facility.
8/06 – 7/11 Safety Director, Merrick Construction Co., Cottonport, LA
Charged with building a new safety program culture. Began extensive training for myself, and began safety training for all employees. Reduced accident frequency and severity. After changing to an insurance group captive, we were awarded the most improved contractor in the group. Cost savings from these efforts approximated several hundred thousand dollars.
Served as the Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) on several projects and the position of Quality Control Manager on one job while maintaining the position of Safety Director. Wrote and implemented all Accident Prevention Plans. Hired additional SSHOs to accommodate the growing number of USACE projects.
