PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Metallurgical Engineer Winsert Inc. Green Bay, WI 1/2011 – Present

• Provide metallurgy expertise to casting shop and quality department (Fe-based, Ni-based, Co-based alloys)

• Responsible for daily laboratory test and analysis, review daily heat treatment cycles for best practices, conduct failure analysis for casting defects and perform SEM/EDS for metallographic analysis

• Continually improve metallurgy process including optimizing raw material charge make-up for quick melting, load sequence and air melting process for cost saving

• Participate in the new grade introduction, prototype/pattern design and perform hands-on projects

Foundry Metallurgist Akers Nation Roll, Pittsburgh PA 1/2008 – 12/2010 (department closed)

• Provide technical support to steel roll manufacturing foundry and outside rolling mills

• Review daily quality report, oversee lab analysis and NDT (non-destructive testing), responsible for metallographic analysis and audit heat treatment cycles

• Lead quality control team and lab technicians for corrective action report and customer claims

• Visit worldwide customers in USA, Asia and Europe to present roll grade selection and rolling techniques

• Introduce new steel grade(high speed steel), perform hands-on projects and interact with corporate R&D
