Senior Environmental Coordinator

detailed reports on same.

Conduct training and informational workshops, seminars, and conferences relating to compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Act in general and water system operators in particular; investigates complaints and trouble shoots water system problems, providing recommendations for corrective action.

Perform within a team environment, professional duties providing a variety of engineering services. Review, evaluate and process water pollution control permit applications for manufacturing, commercial and domestic wastewater disposal systems to ensure the facilities are designed, built and/or operated in accordance with applicable state and federal water pollution control laws and regulations as well as consistent with sound engineering practices, techniques and procedures.

Review facility history, self-monitoring reports, inspection reports, effluent guidelines and conduct field reviews. Prepare water pollution control permits for public notices and issuances.

Responsible for initiating administrative enforcement actions for violators and if necessary appear before the state environmental quality board and courts to testify on behalf of the state.

Day to day responsibility for the safe & reliable operation of the unit, work closely with team members to identify & develop improvement needs and assist as necessary with project implementation, participate in Six Sigma projects, lead/participate in Root Cause Investigations.

Meet EH&S goals and provide leadership within the unit, manage production and inventories, maintain understanding of environmental permits to operate unit and update when necessary, production planning and coordination with sales to determine long term production rates and plant outages to meet demand, plant contact for reactive chemical issues, coordinate schedules for audits, develop /maintain and issue operating plant procedures, work to ensure an effective installation and implementation of new electronic tools, trouble shoot unit problems and resolve, ensure product quality and resolve customer issues.

Coordinate all unit logistics such as incoming and outgoing shipments.

Conduct and audit LOTO, safe work and confined space entry permits as well as complete facility assessments for LPP and LOPA.

Complete detailed project and quarterly reports to the business on status and operation of unit, including inventories, project status and budget.

Back-up for lab, when necessary and conduct sulfur, ash, moisture and bomb calorimeter tests on coal samples.
