EXPERIENCE

Human Resources Business Consultant /Human Resources Analyst Sept 2006 – Jan 2008

Hollywood Presbyterian Medical Center

I hired on as an analyst to manage reporting requirements pertaining to department performance and employee turnover. Shortly after coming on board, I began rewriting and integrating policies as well as revising the Human Resources Strategy. I also compiled and analyzed statistical reports related to personnel matters, and provided current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties, working conditions and wages. I maintained employee files, conducted orientations, and assisted in completing optional benefit plans. The opportunity quickly presented itself, and I immediately began to take the lead in JCAHO standards compliance. Through this effort, I collaborated with the vice president of human resources and conducted an organizational audit. I transitioned out of the organization and began consulting for them, continuing my efforts on their behalf. I wrote communication materials covering their benefits, I performed a compensation and turnover analysis and I continued to ensure Hospital compliance with JCAHO standards.

Human Resources Recruiter

QTC Management Inc. May 2005 – Sept 2006

Hired as a recruiter, I aided the recruitment process as well. My position was and continued to be a job requiring someone capable of handling a very fast pace, a high volume of positions open, and high stress for the breadth of candidates recruited. In addition to jumping in and quickly filling positions, I developed and implemented pre-employment and evaluation tools and processes. I created and compiled statistical reports supporting the human resources department’s activities and efforts, including quality of hire, recruitment time, cost containment, and general HR systems. I established networks with recruiting and temporary employment agencies. All while performing the typical recruiting activities: posting openings on job boards, searching resumes via the internet, networking with candidates and peers, candidate screening, assisting hiring managers in writing job requirements and in selection process, checking references and writing and presenting offer letters and ensuring compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.

Human Resources Assistant (special assignment)

IHOP Corporate Office – Glendale, CA March 2000 – June 2000

During my tenure at IHOP, I accepted a temporary assignment at the corporate office as recognition of my excellent service and potential. In the human resources department assignment, I was able to handle and direct employee related issues and inquiries. I participated in recruiting new employees by providing assistance with background checks and testing. I also used both Excel and Access to compile and catalog reports containing personnel activities and information.

Crew Supervisor/Manager/Trainer May 1996 – May 2005

IHOP Restaurant and National Training Store – San Dimas and La Verne, CA

Shortly after beginning at IHOP in the National Training Store as a food server, I was promoted to crew supervisor and trainer. I received the promotion as recognition for my professional conduct, proficient capabilities, and stepping forward to accept additional responsibility. I took my job and applied my skills whenever possible. I was involved in assisting the corporation in developing new managers and franchisees. I earned 1st place in regional golden service competitions, IHOP’s method for fostering excellent service, three times (2000, 2002 and 2003). I earned 2nd place twice (2003 and 2004). I coached staff to aid in their development, and to correct poor performance when necessary. In 2002, when I transitioned to La Verne, I was promoted to manager. Wherever there appeared to be a need, I would step in to assist through coaching and training; Employee Relations investigations and disciplinary actions; enforcing corporate policies and state employment laws; and advising on and developing corporate policies, manuals, and other education materials.
