SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Renovated downtown. Aspen Development was asked by local municipality to tackle significant portion of a $250M project. Built two parking garages as part of a multi-use commercial unit that created thousands of jobs. Converted fire station into 23 river front townhomes. Recognized for superior quality and received top award.
Executed expansion plan. Recruited by Concord to kick start growth initiatives. Conducted due diligence, acquired land, led project development and managed multi-site projects. Played a key role, expanding company and increasing market share. Grew from $1M to $30M within two years. Acquired by national builder for $200M.
Spearheaded growth. Historically, Aspen was restricted to $500K to $1M projects. Identified and created proforma and marketing plans for 15 high-end six-unit condominiums. Championed project, gained investor interest and $3M in funding. Managed all aspects of project including a 45,000 sq. ft. community recreation center. Sold for $40M.
Revitalized market. Outdated design plans were not meeting customer expectations. Asked by Concord leadership to fix. Evaluated trends, formed design team, and negotiated with vendors for better pricing on higher quality materials. Boosted client satisfaction 60%, sustained 25% annual growth, and increased profit margins.
Leveraged technology to increase bottom line. Aspen sales had stalled. Established strategic partnership with marketing vendor, creating state-of-the-art website. Incorporated virtual reality tours for full community layouts, turning $50K into $12M+ in sales and awarded “Best Virtual Reality Display” in Chicago.
CAREER HISTORY
CEO, Aspen Development, 1995 to 2009. Formed mixed use commercial and residential construction partnership, purchasing outright during second year of operation. Led land acquisition, design and development, banking and investor relationships. Held up to $35M P&L responsibility and managed 50+ employees and 100+ contractors.
VP, Construction, Concord Homes, 1992 to 1995. Drove strategic and operational activities associated with new products, program management, marketing, and communications for this $80M construction firm. Delivered 800+ units annually, ensuring compliance and quality. Managed 150 staff and $30M budget. Acquired by Lennar Homes.
