PROFESSIONAL SKILLS
Exceptional communication skills. Utilize high levels of effective collaboration, communication, interaction and presentation skills with colleagues, management and clients – necessary for accurate scientific analysis.
Highly responsible and ethical. Experienced in setting up and completing complex experiments, and projects in a manner that will produce reliable and accurate results.
Adaptable to new technology. Quickly learn new instrumentation, software and analytical techniques to improve the scope and quality of my work. Frequently troubleshoot and repair instrumental issues on my own time to assure timely and accurate outcomes.
Team player and independent. Approach professional career areas with required effective team collaboration as well as pro-active independent thinking and action.
Organized and motivated. Proper and efficient analysis and experimentation in a research environment require high levels of organization and proactive motivation. Take pride in doing it correctly the first time, especially when it comes to experimental design, conducting the experiment, analysis, recording and interpreting outcomes, and reporting results.
SPECIFIC TECHNICAL SKILLS/DEVELOPMENT
Analytical Scientist. Biomass composition analysis and research. RID HPLC (Agilent Technologies) instrument maintenance and analysis. HPLC method research, development and validation. Chemstation software expertise. Bench chemistry technique required to complete experiments and measurements. SOP writing. Experimental design. Reporting and presenting. GC (Shimadzu), ICP(Leemann/teledyne), YSI, COD(Hach) analyses. Various spectrophotometer analyses relating to particular research methods.
Research Lab Technician. General research lab assistance. Experimental design, reporting and presenting (with mentoring). Developed skills and techniques in GOP, cell counting, COD analysis, FAN analysis and fermentation research assistance.
PROFESSIONAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Developed entire current HPLC protocol for analytical department at GeoSynFuels (GSF). Maintenance protocols, analysis protocols, method development and validation. (With direction and mentoring.)
Led a re-evaluation project in the GSF analytical department focused on our Biomass Compositional Analysis protocol. Worked with head biomass chemist at NREL in reviewing and editing the GSF process. (With direction and mentoring.)
Troubleshoot and Repair instrumental issues. Frequently saved GSF service calls by troubleshooting and fixing HPLC instruments when they went down because of mechanical issues.
