• Worked with a group of engineers to maintain an EMS electrical network model of approximately 5,000 buses spread over a nine state footprint.
• Worked with other engineers and business analysts to operate the Southwest Power Pool Energy Imbalance Market, using the electrical network model as a base for system topology, line flows, and congestion monitoring.
• Coordinated with member utilities to find and validate changes to the EMS model on a monthly basis.
• On – boarded new balancing authorities and market participants into the Southwest Power Pool Energy Imbalance Market.
• Maintained a database of over 3000 contingent elements and oversaw its use in Real Time Contingency Analysis.
• Maintained Inter – Control Center Communications Protocol system consisting of approximately 90,000 individual analog and status data points.
• Used programs such as Microsoft Excel, Visual C#, and Python to create custom applications used to troubleshoot and monitor EMS and ICCP subsystems.
• Managed testing for a project to upgrade EMS software and hardware. This project consisted of executing approximately 250 test cases against eight individual servers over a period of six months.
