Product Design-CAD and Pro-Engineering, Production and Manufacturing, Engineering Thermodynamic, Heat Transfer, Structure Analysis, Fluid Mechanic, Engineering Material, Machines & Mechanisms, Aircraft Structure Analysis, Aircraft Engine Propulsion, Aerodynamic, Aircraft Design, Flight Control System and Design, Control System Analysis
Project and relative skills:
Digital Holographic Particle Image Velocinmetry (DHPIV)
Obtained holograms of NIST particles between size of 10, 100 and 200 micron separately by DHPIV system. Utilized numerically reconstruction and particle extraction technique to obtain particle size distribution.
Direct Methanol Fuel Cell
Designed a Direct Methanol Fuel Cell using theoretical principles, such as fluid rate calculation, cost estimation and performance calculation. Detail drawing by ProEngineering and built a DMFC by machines.
Tree-Stand Design Project
Designed a Tree-Stand in 3-D and 2-D detail drawing by ProEngineering. Estimated the cost and weight of materials of the finish product.
Aircraft Sewage System Design Project
Designed an aircraft sewage system that would allow sewage to drain and store from an aircraft in low temperature condition.
Aircraft Structure Analysis Project
Analyzed and calculated the stress and pressure on the body and wings of an aircraft using basic aircraft structure analysis principles and according the results of the analysis to select suitable materials for the body and the wings of an aircraft.
Wing Foils Design Project
Designed and Analyzed the shape and size of wing foils for low speed flying condition by using aerodynamic principles. Determined the lift force, drag force, angle of attack and the streamline characterizes of the wing foils in a sub-sonic/supersonic wind tunnel.
Double Pipes with Leakage Detection System Design Project
Designed a piping system with a primary and a secondary pipelines that has an interstitial space between the primary and secondary pipelines. Designed a leakage detection system that is connected to the interstitial space.
Fuel Leakage Protection System for a Gasoline Station Design Project
Designed a fuel leakage detection piping system for a gas station between the gas tank and gas pump. Designed a leakage protection system to provide leakage in a sump beneath the gas pump.
Relevant Work Experience and Internship:
United States Government under Department of Commerce, Patent and Trademark Office
Mechanical Engineering (Fluid Handling System) Patent Examiner, January 2006 to January 2009
Reviewed patent applications and determine if they comply with basic engineering and science rules and legal requirements. Reviewed the format of the patent applications and determine the patentability of the patent applications. Wrote a detail report for the patent applications or the engineering ideas and communicate with applicants/applicant’s representatives. Reviewed and replied applicants/applicant’s representatives Arguments/Remark for the application/idea that does not meet the requirements of patentability. Mainly focus on aerodynamic structures design, piping design, heat exchanger, pumping system and valves.
University at Buffalo, Buffalo, NY
Undergraduate Research Assistant, January 2004 to September 2004
Utilize a Digital Holographic Particle Image Velocinmetry technique for particles reconstruction.
Developed a Digital Holographic Particle Image Velocinmetry (DHPIV) system for particles and blood cell research.
ICC Facade Limited, China, Hong Kong
Trainee Engineer May 2004 to July 2004
Designed a movable Glass Panel by using AUTO-CAD and Pro-Engineering, wrote a Chinese/English operation manual, standard work instruction, and standard operation process for a movable Glass Panel.
Ethox Corp, Buffalo, NY
Medical Devices Quality Control Engineer, January 2005 to December 2005
Assisted with materials testing, ensured quality of various medical devices and documentation for various ongoing projects in Chinese and English. Performed engineering analysis to ensure product designs meet performance and safety requirements and wrote a protocols and reports for each product that is tested.
