As senior operations controller I was responsible for delivering innovative solutions to customer requirements, whilst maintaining a commitment to high standards and quality control. This was achieved with the introduction of a vehicle booking system (VBS) to allow terminal customers a more efficient allocation of company resources and services that could adapt to changing demands in evolving environments when and where required providing optimum output while overseeing the co-ordination of all cargo movement.

The Implementation and adaption of initiatives to comply with ISO 9002(now 901-2002) TCS was the first Terminal in the world to receive these accreditations. Also initiatives were put into place whereby the companies’ environmental footprint could be improved this by means of regular internal and external audits.

I maintained an active involvement in the training of personnel in the preparation and presentation of cargo for exam by Customs, DEFRA or other statutory bodies. These procedures later became certificated to ensure quality assurance including Port health clearance procedures and are now approved and fully compliant with all EU veterinary directives regarding the importation of animal products.

I brought in new initiatives and procedures for cargo inventory manifest notification, export pre-advice and import clearances to further extend the company resources available to all customers and shipping line operators these procedures were coupled to customs anti-smuggling checks also manifest write-offs’ involving transshipments, interport removals or intradock transfers.

I have comprehensive cellular and non cellular ship planning experience for the load/ discharge of ships. This was gained using various transport and cargo handling logistics systems including –SPARCS. PACE, FCPS and CHIEF.

Office based Ms. System experience including: - Word. Excel. Office and PowerPoint also experience with dos based programs.

I was an Assistant Manager within the Foreign exchange/ overseas relations department of a busy international financial institution. Whose main duties involved maintaining fluid account balances, end of day book position checks with the liaison with exchange dealers, the reconciliation of customer accounts on a daily basis in compliance with Bank of England directives?

I was responsible for and instigated initiatives that complimented and eased the delivery of remittances via paper transactions and aided the cross checking of payments upon final destination. These initiatives released resources that could be utilized in a more cost effective manner in other areas.

I also gained experience working in an Anglophone department responsible for the cultural and community development of English speaking African nations through the sphere of financial education and loan distribution to build lasting economic stability..

As an assistant farm manager I was responsible for the introduction of various initiatives to further enhance the profitability of the business. One of my main achievements’ was the design and subsequent implementation of a ten year rotational policy. This allowed for flexible options that could be factored in dependent on yearly fluctuations outside of normal market conditions. Also included within the portfolio were initiatives allowing for fluctuations in labor requirements, as obviously during periods of peak productivity seasonal workers would be required. Streamlining initiatives I advocated involving direct control of labor costs were instrumental in increased profitability. This at a time when agriculture was experiencing shrinkage in market potential through increasing foreign competition combined with escalating operating costs.

I also lowered the mortality rate within the unit from 7% to 0.25% this was achieved by advanced training of staff in animal husbandry and basic veterinary practices. I also oversaw the expansion of the stock unit to incorporate a large pedigree herd of Herefords together with an increase in diversification that would set new standards within the community.
