Developed daily plan for moving an average of 250-600k lbs of freight throughout

the United States and Canada. Some limited overseas freight shipments also.

Assisted and coordinated in developing the Velocity Program at two locations in the

Midwest, supervising 30+ personnel. This program used the integration of 17 terminals

And their drivers to coordinate freight movement throughout the system along with line-haul dispatch. My job was to make sure that this was a smooth and timely process each night thru planning and utilization of union employees coming in from other terminals in the Midwest.

This was to include log hours available for driving time and dock time for each employee.

Entering payroll and faxing copies of their manifests to the home office. All operational

reports and daily dock generated numbers were submitted by me to the manager via e-mail.

I was asked and agreed to help start up the Velocity Program by the manager at the Joliet

Il. terminal after observing my program at Rock Island.

Implemented safety programs that included conducting daily safety meetings to insure

compliance with DOT and Haz-Mat safety regulations. Also included but not limited to

seatbelt usage, forklift safety operation (three point mount and dismount, 4 inch forklift height during travel, proper use of horns while exiting and entering trailers and yearly retesting for forklift licenses), proper lifting techniques, weather safety procedures, emergency check lists,

lockout – tag out, and a basic development of safety awareness.

Issued driving and written exams to Class A drivers for pre-employment purposes

to union members (Teamster), based on D.O.T. regulations and using the Smith System has a

guide to observe safe driving habits of applicants .

Operated two stage forklift with a weight capacity of 8,000 lbs during dark terminal hours.

Computer proficiency in FMS, AS400 and Internet to generate freight deliveries and pick-

ups, bills of lading, manifests, customer data, payroll and operational reports.

Maintained a 95% on time next day freight delivery.
