Fairfield Service Company of Indiana, LLC, USA Jan 2011 – Dec 2011

Design / Project Engineer

• Design and manufacturing of bulk material handling and automation equipment using ProE WF 5.

• Drafting and Blind Design of Structural for Equipments in the Mineral processing plant 2D to 3D conversion.

• Processing Equipments like Hydrosizer, Hydro cyclone, Magnetic Separator, Electrostatic Separator, and Blower Etc.

• Perform site engineering survey and study to specify new mechanical equipment to support mechanical modifications for our equipment.

• Provide mechanical start-up and diagnostic field engineering service for industrial equipment manufacturer.

• Pre shipment inspection and testing of the mechanical equipment for industrial equipment manufacturer.

• Responsibilities for assisting in the development of the engineering calculations and design criteria for the mechanically operated equipment.

• Brief review of production drawing before handling to the machine shop.

• Responsibilities for training the owner’s work-men at the site.

• Responsibilities for coordinating all engineering and sales activities

• Coordinating with client and clearing any technical queries raised by production department.

• FEA Engineer experience in the numerical simulation of structures like Hydraulic Operated single Rake arm equipment.

PAST ENGINEERING PROJECTS

• Basic Principle of Stirling Engine

Project report was submitted on Basic Principle of Stirling engine with detail specifications during pre final semester of under graduation for the three types of Stirling engines and presented on seminar.

• Working Model of Stirling Engine

This project was submitted in final semester of under graduation with self machined working model of Stirling engine and report was submitted with flow chart and ProE drawings of assembly. Played a key role in making ProE drawing of the Stirling engine parts like piston, crankshaft and connecting rod.

• Thermal insulating materials

This project was submitted with detail of specific thermal insulating material in chip and its cooling effect was considered.

• Assembly of male and female part

In this CAD based project assembly of male and female part was done with detail drawing in ProE in several stages considering from raw material to their assembly and rotation of 90 degree and dispatch.

• Simulation of flow in pipe (FEA analysis)

Using STAR-CCM+ computed axial velocity profile, centerline velocity, centerline pressure, and skin friction coefficient. Conducted verification studies for skin friction coefficient and axial velocity profile of laminar pipe flows, including iterative error and grid uncertainties, and effect of refinement ratio on verification. Used post-processing tools (streamlines, velocity vectors, contours, x-y plots, streamlines, and tables) to visualize and analyze the flow fields. also validate turbulent pipe flow simulation using EFD data and analyze the differences between laminar and turbulent flows.

• Simulation of unsteady turbulent flow over the Ahmed body(FEA analysis)

I had “hands-on” experiences using STAR-CCM+ to investigate the effect of slant angles (25 and 0 degrees), effect of meshes (coarse and fine) on simulation results by comparing With experimental data. Also used post-processing tools (streamlines, velocity vectors, contours, x-y plots, streamlines, animations, and tables) to visualize and analyze the mean and instantaneous flows fields and compute the shedding frequency (Strouhal number). For results analyzed the differences between CFD and EFD.
