Research Assistant / Developer, Project: FLOSSPOLS
Worked on the modeling and simulation part of FLOSSPOLS (Free/Libre/Open Source Software: Policy Support), which investigated the efficiency of open source as a system for collaborative problem solving. SimPy (a Python-based package for simulations) was used for the simulation.Other than FLOSSPOLS, I worked on the extraction of technical terminologies from millions of patents documents in four different languages. My work included design and implementation of efficient algorithms for data extraction.

Design and Implementation of CORBA-DCOM Bridge (GIKI) Aug 2001 - May 2002

Objects using CORBA by OMG cannot directly inter-work with the objects that are based on DCOM architecture by Microsoft, and vice versa. Our project team built a software bridge, which enabled CORBA objects to directly inter-work with DCOM objects for an image processing application.
Elevator Scheduling System for Skyscrapers (GIKI) Mar 2001 - May 2001
Modeled and simulated an elevator scheduling system for skyscrapers. Model was based on queuing theory and implementation was done in MATLAB.
Intelligent Traffic Light Controller (GIKI) Oct 2000 - Dec 2000
Member of a group which designed and implemented an automatic traffic light controller. The controller (microcontroller C2051) made intelligent decisions based on the intensity of the traffic in various directions.
