Sr. Process Engineer 5/03 to 12/08
Performed process and project engineering duties for capital and expense projects through out plant. Modified batch recipes, investigated quality issues, and scaled up new products. Led Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) for various projects. Project Engineering responsibilities for projects up to $800K.
•Served as acting plant manager during plant manager’s absence.
•Installed novel reverse osmosis water purification system, savings of $550K capital & $50K/yr expense.
•Implemented recipe management system for 35 emulsion polymer recipes, including writing DCS recipes. Started up and wrote batch recipes for 2 new Yokogawa DCS control systems.
Operations Manager 4/99 to 5/03
Managed 120 MM lb/yr production department. Responsibilities included personnel scheduling, production and quality issues as well as trouble shooting and revising operating instructions. Duties also included managing raw material handling department which received all bulk raw materials for entire plant.
•Managed production during the merge of two production building, and closure of an older building, while maintaining production and quality.
Process Engineer 8/98 to 4/99
Made pilot plant process improvements, including troubleshooting, scale-up recommendations, and project engineering. Troubleshot main production plant process problems and designed improvements for the plant thermal oxidizer system. Served on a team that completely revised the plant Management of Change system to meet PSM standards.
•Scaled up processes from pilot plant 100 gallon to production 3000 or 7800 gallon reactors.
•Wrote scale-up plans, batch recipes, and performed material balances.
