• Responsible for the accountability, support and deployment of crucial re-transmission assets needed for large scale land based communications. Proper 100% FM coverage in the area of operations at all times.
• Manages a Satellite Transportable Terminal (STT) that provides an internet uplink in remote areas. The services provided by the STT ensure leaders and mission essential individuals could manage their battle space and provide proper reports to higher echelons of leadership.
• Created and maintained a “Unit Equipment Maintenance” spreadsheet to track the status of damaged and non-functional communications and IT equipment that included dates and estimated times of return of equipment. The spreadsheet was adopted as the standard for every subordinate communications shop.
• Provided leadership, guidance and training for 5 enlisted soldiers. Selected to perform as upper level management in the absence of my leadership with responsibilities that included the accountability of 20 enlisted soldiers and control over an entire area of communications. Received an Army Commendation Medal (ARCOM) for the successful execution of these tasks.
• Assistant manager of all cryptographic communications security keys. Duties included the distribution of required keys to subordinate units and the destruction of expired keys.
• Assisted in the creation and preventative maintenance of a wide area network supporting over 500 users.

• Instructed “Train the Trainer” classes on the functions and use of new communication assemblies. As a Group Leader, attended classroom instruction of hands on training of radios, group modems, multiplexing and de-multiplexing and line-of-sight antenna construction. The end result was the identification of new Subject Matter Experts (SME) who were able to train their personnel to properly use this equipment
• Provided communications support utilizing advanced troposphere scatter equipment during multiple training exercises resulting in 100% certification of operators and equipment
• Managed cryptographic communications security keys. Responsible for the receiving and distribution of up to two weeks worth of security keys. Required to maintain a current and accurate log of the status of each security key and each unit holding these security keys.
• Responsible for the maintenance, repair and readiness of squad based FM radio equipment. These radios were used exclusively for combat operations and needed to be functional and ready for use 100% of the time.

• Chosen over peers to operate line of sight communication assemblages in critical areas during training exercises that involved the South Korean Army and that spanned over the entire Peninsula of South Korea
• Performed operator level maintenance on radios, group modems and other communications equipment and learned the full capability of all types of communications equipment that was operated by the unit.
• Provided VOIP services to subscribers during training exercises
• Received fastest time and highest score in the unit for annual team certification in 2005. Certification consists of construction of antenna and connecting to the distant end of a Line of Sight network while maintaining 100% safety for personnel and equipment operation.
