Qualifications:

I am a professionally trained welder and weld inspector certified by the American Welding Society (AWS). I can design and fabricate complex weldments and machinery, determine repair procedures and supervise welding crews. I have been trained in blueprint reading, welding symbols and drafting. I am proficient in applying welding codes: AWS D1.1, API 1104 (pipe) and Ground Combat Vehicle Welding Code. I am qualified to certify welders to AWS standards and confirm if welding meets the applicable codes. I am highly skilled at all conventional welding processes and can work with all types of metals. My welding career has taken me to the Middle East and military bases throughout Afghanistan. I am willing to live in austere or hazardous conditions. Work Experience:

General Dynamics Land Systems / Force Protection Incorporated. Production welder and CWI in Afghanistan from April 2011 to present. Scope of work includes: modernization, repair and armor upgrade on MRAP's (Mine Resistant Ambush Protected heavy vehicles: Cougar, MATV and MaxPro) to military specifications. My position further involves battle damage assessment and repair, armor crack identification and repair, magnetic particle testing (MT), supervision of welding team, monitor weld quality, records maintenance, work scheduling and compiling written and digital reports.

VSE Corporation, April 2010 to October 2010. I was a production welder in Kuwait. My work entailed armor crack repair, modernization and fabrication on military vehicles namely MRAPs, including the Force Protection Inc. Buffalo and Cougar; associated with welding on the vehicles were other duties such as: plasma cutting, 309 stainless welding, oxy/acetylene heating, arc gouging, TIG welding, liquid penetrant testing (PT), bolt extraction and mechanical repairs. I also supervised a small crew of Pakistani welders. The contract expired in October and the entire crew was released.

Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife, February 2008 to May 2010. I was a

Fish Screen Technician; I worked as a welder and fabricator building complex fish screening systems that operate from Hydro and Solar power to engineered specifications. This job included welding stainless steel, aluminum and carbon steel; other duties were carpentry (building intricate concrete forms) tying re-bar, pumping concrete and finishing concrete, assembly of chain and gear drives, installation and maintenance of various screening systems, solar trouble shooting and mechanical trouble shooting. Much of this work was done at remote sites in Southern Oregon.

Taylor Site Development Inc., June 2005 – Feb, 2008 I was employed as a heavy equipment operator (dozer, excavator and backhoe) and welder/mechanic. Taylor Site does government contracting of road construction, pipe lines, utilities and residential subdivisions. I repaired heavy earthmoving equipment including excavator buckets, hard-facing of wear surfaces, pipe welding, hydraulics repair and maintenance of equipment.

I was a private land use planner and rural land development consultant.
