WORKING EXPERIENCE

From 01st March 2011 I was promoted as Assistant Executive Housekeeper and up to date

Key Duties & Responsibilities:-

Assist with hiring and performance of all Housekeeping members. Prepares and oversees skills training programs and revises manual where necessary in conjunction with the training manager.

Evaluates the performance of the department’s personnel. Administrates a personnel development program within own department to provide well-trained employees.

Assist the Housekeeper with periodic reviewing of prices and sources of chemical supplies, guest supplies, linen, uniforms and operating equipment.

Maintain effective communication on the activities of the department with other operating department in the Resort on order to provide the best possible service to guests of the resort

Effective roster to maintain proper manning levels and labour costs achieve forecasted results.

Training the supervisor to take responsibilities when required.

Assist the Executive Housekeeper with report, forecasts, budgets, policy and future planning, Recommends to management changes on innovations in policy procedure and equipment.

Check guest rooms and public areas ensuring all standards set are being met and the product is well maintained.

Assign and delegate tasks for the effective operation of the Housekeeping Department.

Coordinate spring cleaning and refurbishment programs.

Coordinate maintenance of equipment and furnishing.

Conduct regular communication meeting with the Housekeeping Department.

Comply with the Resort accident prevention and safety procedures.

Actively participate in Human Resources, Learning and Development initiatives that will help the Resort to deliver higher levels of service to our guest and our compliance to good health and safety practice at the workplace.

To support by assisting with on-the-job training and orientation of new team members/trainees and other reasonable requests in order to improve the performance and service standards our team.

As a member of the leadership team, to coach, support and develop his/her team members, wherever required. This is in conjunction to promote opportunities for development and towards future success of our resort & the company.

To be willing and responsible to perform any duties as designated by management.

Velassaru Maldives as a Housekeeping Supervisor.

From 28th of July 2008 to 10th of Jan 2009 I have worked at Pegasus Reef Hotel as a Housekeeping floor and Public Area Supervisor.

From 1st of June 2005 to 1st September 2007 worked at the Mahaweli ReachHotel Kandy as a Housekeeping Floor Supervisor.

I have worked as a Room Attendant at the Earl’s Regency Hotel from 1st of May 2004 to 1st of December 2004.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATION

Followed a basic Level Housekeeping Course at The Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism & Hotel Management in Kandy 2004,

I have completed the complementation English course at the American College of Higher Education in Kandy 2005,

Successfully completed the Train The Trainer program counted by the Velassaru Maldives, Held by Box Hill Institute Melbourne Australia,Centre for Hospitality and Studies (3 days) in 2010

Successfully completed the Resort Fire fighting Program counted by the Velassaru Maldives .(Secura Fire Bridge Republic of Maldives held on 15th of Feb 2010 to 28th of Feb 2010) (03 Weekes)

Successfully completed the Fast Aid Program counted by the Velassaru Maldives.

Successfully completed the Elementary Fire Fighting Programmed counted by the Kandy Municipal Fire Bridge held on 18th February 2004.

Been to Singapore / Bangkok and Malaysia for Hockey Tournament year 1999.

In 1997 and 2002 I got Award of Excellent in school colors night.(Hockey)

In 1997 participate to Pioneer Scout camp which held at Matale St’ Thomas College.

In 2008 Pegasus Reef Hotel Interdepartmental Volleyball team member.
