2008 to Present
Subsidiary of Tissue Banks International (TBI). Non-profit
tissue recovery agency serving approximately 11 million
people; operations supported by approximately 50
administrative, donor development, technical, and
logistical/call center staff. Organization recovers on
approximately 1000 donors annually including both ocular and
tissue donors; currently recovers corneas, bone, skin, heart
valves, veins, thoracic vessels, and spines for transplant.
Technical Program Manager
Brought in to develop and improve overall recovery program
with ultimate focus on optimizing donations; ensure
performance of 30 direct reports including 20 in Oakland
office and 10 in Redding office (satellite location).
Scope of responsibilities include quality assurance and
compliance (continuous training, staff competency,
procedures, records, documentation, audits, equipment and
coordination with FDA, AATB and EBAA), technical operations
(daily recovery operations, donor coordination, trend
analysis, staff hiring, training, scheduling and evaluation,
and records review), donor development (goals and
performance objectives), and administrative functions
(payroll, expense reports, budgeting, executive support, and
corporate collaboration).
* Grew revenue 5% through development of pay for performance
program (facilitating increase in skin yields 20% and
reimbursements 30%); system rewards staff for meeting
tissue yields, quality and documentation quality goals.
* Improved adherence to standards and regulations as well as
decreased time required to follow case completion by
sourcing and compiling disposable instruments used during
recoveries for approximately $20 per standard case.
* Decreased volume of lost donors and donation opportunities
by streamlining process and improving overall recovery
operations.
* Lowered recovery case time 1-1.5 hours through development
of pre-packing system for supplies needed in recoveries.
* Increased release of tissues (generating revenue) by
enabling timely correction of charts through development of
system rapidly reviewing donor records; introduced system
previously non-existent, causing holdup of pending
corrections 2 years out.
* Collaborate effectively with donor families, hospitals,
funeral homes, coroner and medical examiner office; primary
clientele includes RTI, Osiris, LifeCell, LifeNet Health,
Cryolife, and TBI.
* Currently leading team through development of standardized
training program for all technical staff (enabling
consistency in training and operations in both offices);
also currently creating library of PowerPoint and media
presentations as alternative training methods and
spearheading launch of SharePoint site consolidating
information including calendars, forms, call schedules,
announcements, and policies.

Non-profit organ procurement agency and tissue bank serving
central/southeastern Ohio and couple of West Virginia
counties; operations supported by 75 employees.
Senior Perfusionist/Tissue Coordinator
Led and participated in operations ensuring timely recovery
of tissue for transplant; supervised team of 3-4 staff.
Performed perfusion of solid organs for transplant as well
as preservation after recovery (until transplant); trained,
scheduled, oversaw and evaluated performance of 15 per diem
staff. Filled in as on-call administrator; spearheaded
quality assurance and chart reviews; maintained recovery
supplies and inventory for recoveries; functioned as liaison
between management and staff as well as between organization
and processors.
* Improved overall organization performance through
development and implementation of tissue quality
performance indicators and associated databases
(highlighting strengths and weaknesses of individual
recovery performance).
* Instrumental in creation of training modules addressing
tissue and organ recoveries.
* Developed and updated polices for compliance with AATB
standards and FDA regulations; also created inventory
controls and procedures to comply with GTP regulations.

Startup biotech company bringing academic discoveries to
private sector; operations supported by 2 lead researchers
and 2 assistants.
Research Assistant
Assisted with laboratory work (consistent with prescribed
protocols) comprising cell and tissue culturing, DNA
extraction, protein extraction and purification, PCR,
western blot, and ELISA testing; worked with animal models
for treatment testing.
* Coauthored paper, CD24 is a genetic modifier for risk and
progression of multiple sclerosis, published In PNAS,

High adventure camp for scouts embarking on 10-day
backpacking treks with primitive accommodations.
Camp Director/Dean Dow Camp, Training Ranger, and Ranger
Ranger: Trained new crews and groups of campers on
wilderness skills including, navigation, safety, wilderness
practices, cooking, water purification, first aid, and
animal precautions for bears; simultaneously served as
member of search and rescue team.
Training Ranger: Trained, oversaw and evaluated performance
of 8 rangers; also performed ranger responsibilities and
served as search and rescue team leader.
Camp Director: Administered all facets of camp operations
and activities (attended by 120 campers daily); responsible
for performance of 7 staff; participated in search and
rescue operations.
