Experience gained: Molecular biology of influenza virus. Cloned all 8 segments of Influenza Virus ( H3N2 Wyoming) and sequenced the whole genome completely without any errors. Supervised the technicians and students in molecular biology. Transfected the viral segments into HEK 293 cell lines in order to study the expression of viral segments.
January 16, 2006 to June 14, 2008:
Laboratory Manager
Research Staff Scientist
Shriners Hospital for Children

Experience gained: Supervised approximately 10 employees including research scientists, research technicians and students. Developed cell cultures for Osteoclast and Osteoblasts at Shriners hospital. Standardized and performed Real Time PCR for various genes involved in bone injury and bone repair. Extensive work has been performed with cartilage obtained from young and old pigs. Microarry studies were performed and identified several genes involved in bone repair.
