Petroleum Sites:

•Preparation of Proposals/Pre-Approvals for NCDENR directed UST work

•Extensive work with the NC UST Trust Fund program from Site Check/UST Closure through Site Closure

LABORATORY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Sample Preparation:

•Prepare Environmental and Industrial Hygiene samples of various media/matricies via EPA, Standard Methods, NIOSH, and OSHA methodologies for metals and inorganic analyses

•Manage sample preparation workload of Inorganics Department and two prep technicians

•Assist during periodic/annual state and client audits of laboratory procedures

•Assist in developing, validating, and implementing new methods and procedures at the laboratory

•Assist in designing and relocating the preparatory and analytical laboratory to a new building

•Developed training materials to assist in training new sample preparation technicians and for analysis instrumentation and data management software in the laboratory

Sample Analysis and Data Management:

•Primary analyst of environmental and industrial hygiene samples via Graphite Furnace and Flame Atomic Absorption, Mercury via Cold Vapor Atomic Absorption

•Secondary analyst of environmental and industrial hygiene samples via Ion Chromatography (IC), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), and Inductively Coupled Plasma – Mass Spectrometry (ICP-MS)

•Data Management of all above mentioned data into both DOS and Windows based Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)

•Assist department manager maintain workload for special projects and during co-workers’ vacations
