Qualifications

Over 15 years experience as a pre-press specialist and computer systems/network administrator using Windows and/or Macintosh systems. Over five years experience as the administrator of a print shop design studio. Eight years of pre-press experience working with a diversity of new programs while utilizing my skills in network design, switching, and hardware installation. Experience with multitasking projects, managing developers, vendors, purchasing computers and equipment, installation of hardware and software while carrying out effective troubleshooting and problem solving techniques.

Technical Qualifications

Operating Systems: Mac OS 8.5 to X Windows 95 to Vista including NT4, 2000 and 2003, and 2008 Server.

Hardware: Apple Macintosh G3 to G5 Compaq, Dell, HP computers, mainboards, NICs, graphic cards, processors, memory modules, hard drives and CD/DVD writers. (I built most of our PC systems to fit our printing and communication needs at my last company, Drukkerij Goos.) Experience with a wide range of switches, routers, hubs, printers and plotters.

Drukkerij Goos | Ouderkerk a/d IJssel, The Netherlands

Full-time Pre-Press specialist in graphic design print studio responsible for making all projects print-ready. Helped to set up and troubleshoot a new computer-to-plate system.

As the Systems Administrator, I set up our studio with four Apple Macintosh G4s and one Macintosh G3 (OS 8.5 and 9), a Scitex Scanner 24 port switch, ECRM Tigercat computer-to-plate platesetter with two supporting WIN NT4 computers and a WIN 2000 server machine to archive files. Later I added four G5 Macs with OSX with a gigabit network, updated the WIN2000 server to 2003 server 64bit, upgraded the storage capacity from 700 gigs to 2.5 terra byte and replaced the ECRM tigercat with an Heidelberg Prosetter. Installed and maintained all company office administration with 6 WINXP systems and a server that ran an SQL based administrative program.
